Newham’s Healthy School Streets Programme

Newham Council operates their Healthy School Streets programme around our school during term time. This is part of the Newham Council’s policy to improve the streets environment outside all schools across the Borough and as such its implementation is being coordinated by the council and not by the schools.

The programme will cover the roads surrounding Lister Community School, Plaistow Primary School & Southern Road Primary School. The operating times are as follows;

  • 8am to 9.30am
  • 2.30pm to 4pm

Please find attached further information provided by Newham about the programme and a map of the roads included in the zone

The ONLY cars which will be allowed to enter the zone during these times without paying a fine will be those who live in the zone, black cabs, emergency vehicles and Blue Badge holders.

Blue badge holders must apply by emailing healthyschoolstreets@newham.gov.uk.

You will be requested to provide the following information with your application;

  • Official reasoning for entering the restriction zone
  • A letter from the school confirming your child attends Lister – please email attendance@lister.newham.sch.uk to obtain the relevant letter
  • A copy of vehicle registration document or Lease from Motability
